Studio Ghibli is a Japanese film studio that is responsible for creating some of the most creative, loved, and remembered animated films of all time. From Spirited Away, to Kiki’s Delivery Service, and even Grave of the Fireflies, there’s been hit after hit, so you can only imagine how excited people got when it was announced that the famed studio would finally be bringing a show they worked on to the US.
The show, titled Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter, features a the daughter of a thief who after a series of events, becomes friends with the son a rival of her fathers. The show is actually based off of a book of the same title written by Astrid Lindgren, but it was adapted by Studio Ghibli, and directed by Goro Miyazaki, the son of Hayao Miyazaki. If you saw earlier, we mentioned that the show is finally coming to the US. It’s actually been out in Japan since 2014, but it will now be available to watch exclusively on Amazon Prime on the 27th of this month. Check out the trailer below!
