Ah, rumors. How we love you so.
It’s been a couple of months since the official announcement of Gotham City Siren, the female-focused DC villain film that’s currently in development by Warner Bros. On top of that, it was just announced a few days ago that Suicide Squad director David Ayer would be teaming up with Margot Robbie once more, since he’s been locked in as the film’s director.
With a director officially in tow, it’s only a matter of time before we start getting casting announcements, or in this case, casting rumors.
The rumor comes courtesy of Bleeding Cool, who is reporting that Megan Fox has been been buying some comic books. Not just any comics though, Fox has reportedly ordered Harley Quinn #14, #17, and #38. That normally wouldn’t come off as suspicious, however those three issues focus mostly on the relationship that Harley Quinn and Pamela Isley, aka Poison Ivy, and the timing lines up pretty well with the announcement of Ayer as director.
Megan Fox has been in multiple comic book films, and she’s actually shown interest playing Ivy before, so this rumor isn’t so far fetched. Still, it could just be an odd coincidence. Maybe Megan Fox is just a fan of Harley Quinn. Either way, it’d be interesting to see Margot Robbie share the screen with Fox and whichever actress would potentially play Catwoman. At this point, we’ll just have to see if the rumor comes to fruition at some point.
Gotham City Sirens has yet to receive an official release date, but as soon as it does we’ll let you guys know.
