Last year brought about the unexpected success of Matthew Vaughn’s high-octance spy adventure, Kingsman: The Secret Service. For a relatively unknown cast mixed with a relatively unknown property (for those who don’t read comics that much), this film exceeded expectations, so it was no surprise when a sequel was officially announced.
The followup film has officially been dubbed Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and unlike it’s predecessor, it’ll have our Kingsmen from the original film teaming up with the Statesmen, which is the North American equivalent to the Kingsmen. With these interesting and elusive details and an impressive list of actors signing up for the sequel, you have to wonder just what to expect this time around? Taron Egerton, the actor who played Eggsy in Kingsman gives us a feel of it in his recent interview with Cinemablend:
“[Matthew Vaughn] goes even further with it. It’s kind of absolutely crazy. Julianne Moore is the villain, and she’s genuinely terrifying. She’s really, really, really great. So it’s bigger, badder, more guns, you know? All that stuff. It’s fun.“
We’re not sure who would use “absolutely crazy” and “fun” to describe something all in the same sentence, but it seems like they’re looking to up the ante this time around. The first one was already crazy, so how they could top that is beyond us. We’re definitely looking forward to it though.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to release on October 6th, 2017.
