Marvel’s Inhumans Receiving TV Series on ABC in 2017

Marvel Studios has created an ever-expanding universe since 2008, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down just yet. We’re in phase 3 of their cinematic universe, and new characters are to be introduced on the big screen, and also the small screen further down the line. It had previously been announced that one of the Marvel properties we’d get to lay our eyes on was the superhuman race that lives in the floating city of Attilan, The Inhumans. Sadly, things didn’t exactly work as planned, and they postponed the movie they had on schedule, only for it to get removed all together. However while the film may have been canned, it looks like there’s a place for the property over on ABC.

Ben Sherwood, the co-chairman of Disney Media Networks and president of Disney/ABC Television Group had this to say about The Inhumans becoming a TV series on the television network:

“This unprecedented alliance represents a bold, innovative approach to launching great TV content for a worldwide audience. It highlights Disney|ABC’s unrelenting commitment to finding new and creative ways to showcasing our very best programming and increasing global engagement and reach.”

As most of us know, the Inhumans have already been introduced through Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but we’ve yet to see them in their entirety. This show is set to remedy that, since it’s been announced to “explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.” It’ll be interesting to see what direction they go in with the show, which Inhumans they’ll feature in the show, and also what potential crossovers could occur with AOS. Only time will tell. For now though, we’re just excited to see the property is still being adapted in some form. Now we’re just praying to get to see a live-action Kamala Khan. Let us know what you think of this announcement in the comment section below!

Marvel’s The Inhumans has no official release date, but it’s set to premiere the first two episodes in IMAX in 2017 before it’s official release.
