[SPOILERS for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 Finale]
By now hopefully we’ve all seen the season 3 finale of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which featured the death of the villainous Inhuman Hive (and technically Grant Ward, again), and also Lincoln. More shocking than that, after a time jump following those events we see Daisy flying solo, sporting a new, edgier look, as a rogue vigilante of some sort. But what’s her agenda? What’s she doing differently than when she was with shield? Is she a bad guy now, or just a lone wolf? Chloe Bennet gives a somewhat cryptic answer to TVLine in an interview:
You’ll see coming up that there might be chaos happening and buildings might be collapsing and bridges might have been broken, but people are always miraculously saved and taken care of, the bad guys always seem to be losing. I think she’s becoming more of a vigilante than maybe she would like. I think she’s trying to do good.”
Okay, so she’s still playing for the same team. That raises the question of why Coulson and the rest of the team were trying to track her down. And it’s still not clear why exactly she’s taking things on by herself. Was dealing with Lincoln’s death too much to handle, or was it something else we’ve yet to see within the time skip? We’re likely to find out when the show returns this fall so until then, we’ll have to keep guessing.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 is scheduled to air on ABC on September 20th, 10pm CST.
