SDCC 2016 is over, and all the biggest news has now been revealed to the public. In regards to the film Black Panther, we had some casting speculations officially confirmed. However while this news was good, we were all hoping for a bit more in regards to the actual story that’s going to take place.

Ryan Coogler, the film’s director, has been very cryptic with sharing his info, so we had to look to someone who was actually cast in the film to come forth with just a bit of info to hold us over. Lupita Nyong’o (The Force Awakens) , who will be playing Nakia, a member of Wakanda’s strictly-female bodyguards to the Black Panther, was able to share just a bit of info in regards to the plot of the film:

“The story of this Black Panther is- what am I allowed to say? – The story is that the Black Panther’s leadership is really threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje to try and defeat the enemy.”

Michael B. Jordan (Creed) had just been confirmed to be taking on the role of Erik Killmonger in the film after months of speculation. In the comics, Killmonger is a native of Wakanda and also rival of Black Panther from a different village, so more likely than not, we can expect him to be one of the foes that King T’Challa will be taking on.

Sadly this doesn’t give us an incredible amount of insight into the film, but this info is better than none at all. You guys looking forward to seeing the story unfold? Let us know in the comment section below.

Black Panther is scheduled to release on July 6th, 2018.
