Yeah, you read this title right. Ghost Rider is officially joining the cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the show’s fourth season.
During their panel at Comic-Con 2016, Jeph Loeb, the big boss of Marvel TV shows officially unveiled the news about Ghost Riding joining the TV side of the MCU:
“Season 4 will unquestionably be the series’ biggest, most ambitious story yet, and it all begins with the introduction of one of our greatest legacy characters in Ghost Rider… When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it’ll change everything.”
Gabriel Luna (Matador) is set to helm the role of Robbie Reyes, not to be confused with Johnny Blaze, the original one. This new Ghost Rider was introduced in 2014 in the Marvel Now! All-New Ghost Rider comic book series. One of the main differences between this Ghost Rider and Johnny Blaze is that he drives a flaming car instead of a flaming motorcycle. This hot rod (pun not intended) will be featured in the show, and it was present and unveiled at SDCC by the cast of AOS. Take a look at this video below to see the cast unwrap this machine:
That’s a very nice set of wheels. So while we’re waiting to see Ghost Rider make his way to the world of S.H.I.E.L.D. What do you guys think of this casting? Who do you want to see on the show next? Let us know in the comment section below!
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is scheduled to return on September 20th, 2016.
