The release of Thor: Ragnarok, the third MCU film featuring the solo adventures of the Norse God of Thunder, is still more than a year away, but that hasn’t stopped the people involved with the film from speaking about it. A few months back, Marvel revealed a list of new actors that would be added to the franchise, and among that list was Karl Urban (Star Trek, Dredd), in the role of Skurge The Executioner, who is a very evil, very beefed-up Asgardian warrior badass. A fear that many fans face when characters are brought from the pages of comic books to the big screen is an accurate representation. That being said, how accurate can we expect Karl Urban’s character to look in accordance to the source material? Well Urban lets us know what he’s doing to fit the role. Well, sort of.
In an Interview with IGN, Urban makes this statement:
“There’s a bit of a few hours at the gym lifting heavy things… The irony is that you won’t actually see my body in this movie under the costume that I have, but it’s important for me to get into the zone and feel [the part].”
Basically what we grasp from that statement is that Karl Urban will be doing his best to look the role, but chances are there’s going to be a bit of editing and enhancements to help him along the way. That’s fairly reasonable though. Have you seen Skurge? Imagine trying to get that jacked for a role.
You guys looking forward to seeing Skurge take on Thor in Ragnarok, or are you more excited for a different new character’s appearance? Let us know in the comment section!
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to release on November 3rd, 2017.
