Fans have been itching for another look at Tom Holland in the role of Peter Parker / Spider-Man again ever since his spectacular performance as the character in Captain America: Civil War. Luckily for them, it looks like filming for the movie has begun today in Atlanta, Georgia.
James Gunn, who just wrapped the shooting of Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 took to Facebook to sort of break the news, but mostly offer Holland some words of encouragement as he begins filming his first solo Spider-Man film. The Facebook post is accompanied by a photo of James Gunn, Tom Holland, and Chris Pratt (aka Star-Lord). In the post, he shares these words:
“Many blessings today to the star of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland, and the film’s director, Jon Watts (standing in here for Jon is some dude that was passing by), as they begin their shoot in Atlanta just as we are ending ours. I don’t think we could pass the Marvel baton to two nicer, better guys who care more about what they’re doing. Kill it!”
Tom Holland also took to his own Instagram account to let the world know that production has begun on the film, and he included this caption:
First day on the job and I already got my chair 👌🏻#SpiderMan:Homecoming
Luckily, all of these post are topped off with some fresh set photos from the film (hat tip to Just Jared), featuring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as her character named “Michelle” (no additional details have been revealed yet), and also Tony Revolori, as his character Manuel. It’s unclear what’s happening in the scene, but it’s our first look at the movie so it’s no big deal. Take a look at those pics below!
