Donald Glover Joins Spider-Man: Homecoming Cast

Yes, this is real life. No, you’re not dreaming. There’s something magical taking place at Marvel Studios. Fans couldn’t believe it when they learned Spider-Man was returning to the Marvel, and now, another long-time fan request is being answered – in some way or another.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Donald Glover (also known as rapper Childish Gambino), is in talks to join the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Any fan who knows there stuff is aware that Glover is the voice actor of Miles Morales, the Black Hispanic Spider-Man from Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, who appears on Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney XD. Ironically, the character was pretty much created due to an online movement that saw Donald Glover campaigning to play Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012).

Sadly there’s no details available for Glover’s role in the upcoming film, but casting him in any role other than Mile Morales seems a bit odd. Then again, introducing 2 Spider-Men in the same film is even more odd. Regardless of that, the fact that he’s going to be in this film is a huge fan service in itself. Who do you think Glover is going to be playing, and are you excited to see him in the film? Sound off in the comment section below!

Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled to release on July 7th, 2017.

  1. Omg, please let them do Miles Morales!!!! With Dr. Strange in the mix now they could bring him from another dimension. Just an idea I’m putting out there, since I know they will be covering multiple dimensions and realities in his film.
