Every film has its flaws, and the first Guardians of the Galaxy film is no exception to that. While the overall film was amazing, Guardians fell victim to the common trend that most MCU films have suffered from, and that’s the lack of a compelling and memorable villain. Ronan The Accuser (played by Lee Pace) was menacing for sure, but even while he possessed one of the most powerful artifacts in the universe, he just didn’t sell it as that “big bad” we’d been looking for. However, we’ve heard news from some new reports that reveal who the next villain will be, and it looks promising.
JoBlo claims to have received an official scoop, which states that Elizabeth Debicki (The Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Great Gatsby) is playing the role of Ayesha, aka Kismet, aka Her, aka..Paragon. She’s a character of many names and many abilities
In her fictional origin, Ayesha (pick whichever name you please, we’re sticking with this one) was a test tube grown human who was blessed with cosmic powers by a collective of scientist named The Enclave, who we’re also trying to take over the world at some point. No biggie. Obviously this is huge news, seeing as how The Enclave’s inclusion means we may see our heroes heading to Earth to stop the threat. On top of that, the inclusion of Ayesha means we may see Adam Warlock – for those who don’t know, he’s basically her male counterpart – in the MCU, and we’ve already seen an Easter egg for his character in Guardians, so this is a pretty good possibility. And of course, if you know your Marvel mythos pretty well, you know this is all leading up to the events that will take place in Avengers: Infinity War.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves! Marvel has yet to officially announce this casting news, so it’s still up in the air. All thing’s considered though, there’s a pretty good chance it’s happening. How do you guys like this news? Excited to see Elizabeth Debicki in the role? Let us know in the comment section below.
