Just yesterday at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Sony announced that the new Spider-Man reboot would officially be titled Spider-Man: Homecoming, confirming previous rumors. Of course following this news, many speculations are going to be made about the plot, and some characters, including the villains.
According to unnamed source who spoke to Variety, Michael Keaton (Birdman) is currently in talks to portray a villain in the Spider-Man reboot. Now, Marvel and Sony have yet to comment on this so far, so it’s all just speculations at this point. However, this rumor came not too long after another rumor surfaced, which claimed that we would see The Vulture as a villain in Homecoming. Some could argue that this is a coincidence, but at the same time it may not be.
Keaton is best known for portraying Batman in the two Tim Burton directed films. This would mark his return to the world of Superheroes, although as a villain this time if these rumors end up being true. We’ll just have to see what comes to fruition.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled to release on July 7th, 2017.
