Last March, 20th Century Fox had some very unexpected success with Kingsman: The Secret Service, and now they’re trying to follow up that success with a sequel, titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The sequel is set to see some familiar faces, with Taron Egerton returning to reprise his role as Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, and Mark Strong as Merlin. There’s been speculations of Colin Firth returning to the film, but that’s still unconfirmed at this time. Some of the new faces we can expect to see are Hallie Berry, Julianne Moore, Elton John (possibly), and now, Channing Tatum.
It was announced last night on Tatum’s Twitter (via Variety) that he would be featured in the sequel, for an unknown role. He posted an image on his twitter page last night that contained this statement(you can view the tweet here):
“My momma always told me the British gave us Southerners our good manners“
This line makes it seem as if Tatum will be apart of The Statesmen, the US equivalent of The Kingsman. There was a character who was described as a “swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy” named Jack, but the evidence point to that being Pedro Pascal’s character more than anything, so we’ll have to wait and see who Tatum plays in the Kingsman sequel.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to release on June 16th, 2017.
