Infinity War: Star-Lord and Thor Confirmed to Appear

Thanos-Thor-Star-Lord (1)

In a few years, we’re going to see everything that’s happened so far in Marvel’s MCU come to a dramatic close with Marvel’s two-part event, Infinity War. What we know about this film so far is that it’s set to include somewhere around 67 characters (that’s what the Russo Bros. said anyway), and some of those characters are going to be brand-spanking new to the big screen. That’s cool, no complaints there, but what about old characters? Who are we going to see from previous Marvel films? Glad you asked.

While speaking with Comicbook.com, Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, each commented on which characters they’re looking forward to working with on this film and the prospect of seeing familiar faces:

“The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that’s happened before in the MCU so you don’t want to get into spoilers but I’m a big fan of what James Gunn has done. [Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you’d be very excited,”

-Anthony Russo

“I’m excited to work with Thor. They’re doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he’s gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he’s gonna have a real emotional motivation after that.”

-Joe Russo

So there you have it. Both Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt, or Thor and Peter Quill/ Star-Lord will be making so appearances in Infinity War, both for reasons currently unknown. It seems like something tragic is going to take place in Thor: Ragnarok, causing Thor some emotional distress, leading him to return to the fight on Earth. And for Peter Quill, well he’s a member of The Guardians of The Galaxy, and Thanos will undoubtedly be upsetting the galaxy, thus causing Star-Lord to guard it.Makes sense. It’s not known whether the rest of the Guardians will be present, but knowing the MCU will finally be coming together is kind of comforting.

Obviously the true reason for each character being in Infinity War will come to light soon enough, but for now, what are your thoughts? Are you guys excited for these two heroes to be in the film? Who else do you want to see? Let us know in the comment section below.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is scheduled to release on May 4th, 2018.
