Following the enormous success of 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, this year brings us to the film that follows the timeline shifting events of the previous film, X-Men: Apocalypse. We’ve already received a trailer for the film before, and now Twentieth Century Fox has released yet another one for fans to feast their eyes on. Bless their hearts.
In this second trailer, it gives us a better feel of what Apocalypse – the first mutant ever– really wants: a clean slate, and he’s itching to start a war to achieve that ultimate goal. We actually get a good look at him this time around and a small peek at a few of his mutant abilities. In both trailers they play on the fact that Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) claims that most of these mutants are following a blind leader, aka Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), so of course he takes it upon himself to “free” four of them – those four being Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Archangel (Ben Hardy), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), and Storm (Alexandra Shipp) – and make them into his Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse.
Without spoiling too much of the trailer, it gives us a showcase of pretty much everyone’s powers this time around, and a little peek of what the end of the world would look like. All frightening stuff, indeed. You can watch the trailer up above, or click here to see it.
As well as the trailer, Empire magazine revealed nine separate magazine covers online for the film, each displaying a character (or two) on the front. You can view them all below:
What do you guys think about the trailer though? Is it everything you’ve hoped for, and then some? Are these magazine covers badass or “eh”? Let us know in the comment section below.
X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled to release on may 27th, 2016.
