Avengers: Infinity War to Debut New Characters

Marvel has released their slate of movies that are going to be released from this year, all the way up to the year 2020. Among those, was the two-part Avengers film that’s set to end Phase Three: Infinity War. We’re pretty certain that somewhere in one or two of these films, we’re going to say goodbye to at least one of our beloved heroes. Worry not though, according to directors of Captain America: Civil War, Anthony and Joe Russo, we’ll be seeing more heroes further down the line.

In previous interviews, the Russo bros. have let it slip that there should be somewhere around 67 characters in their Infinity War plannings. While in a recent interview with Forbes, both brothers had a statement to make about the characters and the scope of the movie:

Joe Russo: New characters that are going to appear in Avengers: Infinity War. It’s a big sprawling ambitious movie, it’s about as ambitious as movies get and it should be, and the title alone indicates that there will be an incredible scale and scope to it.

Anthony Russo: It is intended to be the entire culmination of the Marvel cinematic universe and, in many ways, the end to that part of it. But we don’t even have the first draft in on that script yet; we’re still in the outline phase. It’s hard not to talk about it too specifically now only because of spoilers but also because we’re still figuring it out.

The fact that there are characters that we haven’t heard about or won’t even see until 2018/2019 is incredible. It seems like by the time this thing is done, it’s going to be a living, breathing project. It’s also been confirmed that Thanos isn’t going to be the only villain, so who else can we look forward to seeing?

Does this mean we can expect to see Spider-Man in this film? Are we going to see even more iconic characters from the original Infinity War comics like Adam Warlock? Who would you like to see? Let us know in the comment section below.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is scheduled to release on May 4th, 2018.
