X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Released

This month has been a great month for comic book fans. About 2 weeks ago, we received our first trailer for Captain America: Civil War. About a week after that, the third trailer for Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice was released. Now, we’ve received our first official look at X-Men: Apocalypse.

About a month ago, X-Men Director Bryan Singer let the world know that we would be getting a trailer for X-Men Apocalypse “Very Soon”, and the  good man wasn’t lying.

In the trailer, we’re treated to a look at some familiar characters: Charles/Professor X (James McAvoy), Raven/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Erik/ Magneto, and a few more. We also get our first look at some of the younger version of X-Men characters we’re already familiar with (Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Storm), and also some new faces to the films like Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Jubilee (Lana Condor).

The film will focus on the struggles the X-Men team will have to face after the resurfacing of the first and most powerful mutant alive, Apocalypse, who has the ability to command mutants to do his bidding, among many other abilities. Apocalypse is a strong believer in Charles Darwin’s theories on evolution, which explains why he constantly disappears for periods of time, only to resurface stronger than before, and cleanse the world of those he deems weak, remolding everything to his liking. In the process of this, he brainwashes four Mutants to be his Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Magneto, Archangel, Psylocke, and Storm), which explains one of the reasons why it’s so important for the X-Men to defeat him. As if global annihilation wasn’t bad enough.

What are your thoughts on the trailer though? Does Apocalypse resemble his comic book counterpart enough to you? Are you excited to see this younger version of the team in action? Let us know in the comment section below.
