With DC/Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman coming in a short two years (as of writing this, obviously), it’s very likely that there is going to be a considerable amount of details and images from the movie being released to the public, and it looks like we just got our first look at one of the main characters in costume.
It’s been known for a while that we would see Chris Pine (Star Trek, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) play the role of Steve Trevor, a U.S. military intelligence officer in the US Army Air Corps whose plane crashes on Themyscira -the homeland of the Amazons- and later a primary love interest of Wonder Woman. The photo shows him in costume alongside co-star Saïd Taghmaoui. You can view it here:
Taghmaoui is the one who posted this photo on his Facebook page, but he later deleted it. In an interview, he also told French magazine Ultra that he would be taking on the role of a Superhero in the film, and while sharing very about the role, he did tell the that he had to go through some extensive training to fit the part.
There has already been a rumored plot description of the film, which included that the story would take place both in the past and the present, and judging by the looks of those 194o’s-esque outfits, that rumor seems to hold true. We also know for sure that Pine’s character will be assisting Wonder Woman (Gal Godot) in a battle, but the specifics are still unannounced. Since it’s now clear that Wonder Woman has begun filming, we’re positive more images and hopefully characters will be revealed soon.
What do you think of Chris Pine’s look though? Does it work for Steve Trevor? Let us know in the comment section below.
Wonder Woman is scheduled to release on June 23rd, 2017
