It has been a little under a year since the first teaser trailer for The Force Awakens hit the internet, and when it did, fans went crazy (Crossguard lightsaber, anyone?). Then, five months after that (six months ago), the second teaser trailer was released, and Lucasfilm seemed to make it a point of duty to surpass the last teaser by including a scene of the Millennium Falcon engaged in aerial combat, followed by a short cameo by fan favorites from the original Star War’s trilogy: Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, and Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca. Now in just a few days, a third trailer will be released, and we may see even more astonishing footage.
As mentioned before, the second trailer had a scene where Harrison Ford took on the role of Han Solo again. Just that alone could leave people wondering: where are the Skywalker Siblings? It’s already been long confirmed that both Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will both be reprising their roles as Luke and Leia Skywalker in the seventh installment of the Star Wars saga, yet there has been literally no footage or pictures of them released to the general public. However, there was some behind-the-scenes footage that was shown at San Diego Comic Con that briefly showed Fisher’s Leia, without specifying on the role she is playing in the film. As for Mark Hamill, there is still nothing known of his role. There has been rumors and speculation though, that Rey will somehow be related to the Skywalkers.
According to io9, the trailer is going to debut on Monday, October 19th, around 7pm CST, and the movie tickets will go on sale shortly after, at 7:30pm CST. Prior to all this (a day prior, actually), we should be seeing a new promo poster for the film. On December 17th, There will be a seven-movie marathon featuring all of the Prequel Trilogy, the Original Trilogy, and finally concluding with The Force Awakens. This is obviously an event for die-hard fans, as it will require much commitment to stick around through the whole marathon. What do you guys think of the news about the upcoming trailer though? What do you think they will show us this time around? Let us know in the comment section below.
